SeqHepB

What is SeqHepB

SeqHepB provides an on-line predictive tool, enabling the clinician to make an informed decision as to drug selection based on the mutational and resistance profile of the virus in an individual patient at any given time.

SeqHepB comprises a unique bio-informatics viral genomic sequencing software program together with the world's most extensive database of patented HBV mutations.

SeqHepB also incorporates an extensive in-vitro phenotypic database which permits clinically relevant interpretation of the mutations identified, further enhancing its superior clinical utility.

SeqHepB in Clinical Practice

Upon receipt of a patient blood sample, the laboratory generates a genetic sequence. SeqHepB sequencing software then compares the mutations identified with its international database and generates a resistance profile based on the primary and secondary mutations found in the sequence. The resistance profile generated is both current and predictive.

As a dynamic HBV resistance profiling system, SeqHepB has been designed to keep up with a virus that is continually changing. It is this unrelenting evolution during antiviral therapy that is at the centre of cross-resistance and multi-drug resistance and enables SeqHepB to map the mutational "pathways" of the virus.

SeqHepB is a Mutational Analysis Tool for Better Patient Management

SeqHepB incorporates the world’s most complete collection of Hepatitis B drug resistance mutations, which is stored in a searchable database linked to intelligent software through a web interface.

The use of currently available drugs for the treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) makes the treatment landscape for CHB one where physicians are faced with an increasingly complex decision making process to optimise patient treatment. Physicians will need to:

  • Accurately assess the significance of drug-resistant HBV mutations that are present in their patients.
  • Evaluate treatment alternatives in light of these drug-resistant HBV mutants.

SeqHepB provides a physician with:

  • A rapid analysis of the HBV genetic sequence from a patient undergoing antiviral treatment for CHB.
  • A confirmation of the drug resistant mutation(s) detected in the patient undergoing antiviral therapy.
  • A prediction of treatment outcomes for the patient who has the drug resistant HBV mutations.
  • A technology underpinned and protected by the world’s most complete collection of HBV drug resistance mutations.
